We are now post April 2021, this means that not only has the transition period ended but it’s been more than 90 days since the Brexit transition period has come to an end.
At Just Law Solicitors we have a completed a huge number of residency applications for people under the old requirements and the new requirements which came into force on 1st January 2021.
I have also written an article on the ‘golden visa’ which is in the blog on our website, basically, this visa is obtained if you invest 500,000 euros or more in one or more private or commercial properties.
But what about people who remain in Spain that have been here for more than 90 days and do not have Residency or Residencia as it is called? Well as the UK is no longer a member of the EU it is a third country.
If you have been here for more than 90 days and you can prove that you have been living in Spain for 3 or more years you can apply for your Spanish residency “por arraigo” This has been used by citizens of a large number of countries for years.
As with all my posts, this isn’t legal advice and you should speak to a qualified, registered Spanish lawyer, as there may be other options for you to consider.
If you would like us to assist in this matter or any other legal issue in Spain from an NIE number to a property purchase you can email us at [email protected]
